Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday held a meeting to counter the anti-government protests.

Speaking on Thursday, March 23 in Nairobi, the former Prime Minister alleged that DP Gachagua instructed youths allied to the Kenya kwanza government to be given uniforms similar to Azimio's  Movement for the Defence of Democracy (MDD) to enable them to blend with them without being noticed.

"We have very authentic information that on Tuesday evening, Rigathi Gachagua convened a meeting at his residence in Karen, and in attendance were Kimani Ichung’wah and Ndindi Nyoro. They invited a number of youths from different parts of the country to that meeting.

"That meeting turned out to be a strategy session to plan to counter the demonstrators on Monday. The plan, according to the information we have, is that these youth are going to be given uniforms similar to those of the MDD movement. Then they will mix with our youth and accompany them throughout the demonstrations," said Raila.

The opposition chief also alleged that the youths were instructed to kill over a thousand people during the demos.

"They are going to be armed with stones, knives, and guns. Their aim is to kill over 1000 people and then they are going to make a case that there is a blood bath and try to send Azimio leaders to ICC," he claimed.

Raila further condemned the alleged plot noting that Azimio is a peaceful movement and does not want any bloodshed.
