President William Ruto nominated Bishop Oginde for the EACC position on March 11, 2023, following recommendations by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairperson nominee Bishop David Oginde has revealed that he is worth Ksh 170 million. 

While being vetted by the National Assembly on Wednesday, April 5, Oginde disclosed that his wealth is made up of assets that he owns which include, land and houses.

"I have not asked any accountant to help us with the valuation of the property but the things that we have is Ksh.170 Million.

"It comprises of houses that we are letting out, our own house where we live, some land that we have here and there, and other investments in other insurances on so on,” Oginde revealed.

When asked why he applied for the EACC top position Oginde, disclosed that he was skeptical about applying for it but decided to go for it after praying.

"When this position came up, many people who knew what I have, came to me and asked me to apply, I was not very enthusiastic about it, but after praying about it I thought why not," he said.

President William Ruto nominated the former Citam Church Bishop for the position on March 11, 2023, following recommendations by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

If approved by the National Assembly, Oginde will replace Archbishop Eliud Wabukala who retired in January after serving as the EACC chairperson for six years.
