"Raila ashukuru mwenyezi Mungu na aombe na aseme asante Mungu haukunifanya nikuwe Rais."

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen now says ODM leader Raila Odinga should be grateful to God for not winning the August 9, 2022, Presidential election.

Murkomen, while reacting to the economic situation facing the nation, said if Raila had won, it would have been impossible to turn around the country's economy.

The CS said while reports indicate that the government has no money, the truth of the matter is that the available cash is being used to pay huge debts.

"Nataka Kuhakikishia wakenya hakuna wasi wasi kwa nchi yetu. This economic challenges mnaona ni ile tuliwachiwa na tutasuluhisha. Kuna mtu anasema serikali enye imekuja imeshindwa. Si hivyo. Tumewachiwa mzigo ambayo ni mzito sana

"Ata juzi nilikua nasema Raila ashukuru mwenyezi Mungu na aombe na aseme asante Mungu haukunifanya nikuwe Rais. Kwa sababu angekua Rais ata sujui angeanzia wapi. Afadhali huyu hustler (Ruto) anajua kuhustle na kutafuta jinsi ya kusolve hizi problems."

He added:

"Ata hii maandamano awachane nayo. Ashukuru mungu aseme "Thank you God huakunifanya president. Nimeona hii shida zote ziko Kenya wacha Ruto apambane nayo". I am saying this from the bottom of my heart because of his age and the problems alikua nayo. Mwenye ameweka hiyo madeni kwa muda mfupi sasa akue tena patrol wako na ukue President ingekua tena shida sana."

The debate on delays in salaries has raised fears that the government could be on the verge of collapse.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday said Kenya has no money because of the borrowing spree occasioned by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.

The DP faulted the Handshake regime for the mess saying they have been forced to shoulder the burden occasioned by them

“It is true we are having challenges in paying salaries, giving money to governors. Because the handshake gov’t ripped this country, they borrowed money left right and centre. Because we are a responsible government, we have to pay this money,” he said.

“What we collected the last two weeks was sufficient to pay the loans. What we are collecting this week will pay salaries and other requirements.”
