Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are investigating the incident.

Police are probing an incident in which a Private guard of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was shot when entering his apartment in Kabete. 

The Guard Walter Jonyo was on his way home when he was accosted by four gun-wielding men who demanded he stops and open the car door for them.

Jonyo however declined and the gunmen first shot in the air before shooting two rounds of ammunition towards the driver's seat. 

 The bodyguard was injured in the wrist.

The gunmen then took off aboard a motorcycle that was on standby.

Residents who witnessed the incident responded swiftly and rushed the bodyguard to the Nairobi Hospital where he was admitted for treatment.

He arrived at the hospital in stable condition.

The incident happened on Monday, April 10 at about 9.45 pm. 

Babu Owino while reacting to the incident expressed concern over the incident even as he wondered whether it was meant to intimidate him.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are investigating the incident to establish the motive.

No arrest has been made so far.
