A woman in Kitengela has shocked residents after she severed her child and ate parts of the body.
The yet-to-be-identified woman residing at Nyika estate, in Kitengela town, committed the offence on Monday evening.
She is said to have grabbed the child from the company of others while playing outside and entered her house.
Neighbours became fishy about what was happening after they heard of painful baby screams coming from the house.
Neighbours who made attempts to access the house and establish what had happened could not manage as the house was locked from the inside.

After committing the heinous act, the woman came out and was seen with bloody teeth and clothes.
The shocking image of the woman forced the neighbours to call the police.
Witnesses told Nairobi Leo that the woman had eaten half of the baby's body by the time the police came.
Kitengela OCS David Shani has confirmed the case.
He told Nairobi Leo that the woman has already been arrested and is in police custody.
Shani said the remaining parts of her child are at the Kitengela sub-county hospital mortuary.
He added that the case is being handled by the DCI.
