Since he took office, Preside William Ruto has not made any ambassadorial appointments.

The Public Service Commission has denied shortlisting a group of people for the position of the ambassadors.

A list of names of people has been going viral on social media bearing the trademark of PSC indicating that they had been shortlisted for ambassadorial jobs.

However, in a statement, PSC denied the existence of such an exercise.

"It has come to our attention that some fraudulent individuals are circulating fake lists of appointed Ambassadors and Heads of missions purporting to originate from the Public Service Commission," PSC said.

"We would like to inform the public that this list is fake and should be treated as such."

Ambassadors are appointees of the president and the position is not recruited through the Public Service Commission.

It is therefore misleading for one to claim that the PSC has shortlisted a group of people for the job.

Important to note, the PSC has also not run any advert for the ambassadorial positions.

Therefore it is misleading for one to claim there is a shortlist yet the post was not advertised.

In the appointment of ambassadors, the President picks whoever he deems suitable for the role and forwards the names to Parliament for vetting.

Upon the conclusion of the vetting, the nominees are appointed into office.

Since he took office, Preside William Ruto has not made any ambassadorial appointments.
