The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe for allegedly using inciting, threatening, abusive and insulting remarks.

NCIC in a letter dated May 8 summoned Kagombe to appear before NCIC offices on Thursday, May 2023 at 11 am.

“Take notice that you are hereby required to appear before the National and Integration Commission at the offices at Britam Towers 18. Floor Upper Hill on Thursday 18th May 2023 at 11.00am so as to assist the Commission with aforementioned ongoing further investigation,” the letter read in part.

NCIC also noted that the summon must be obeyed by the UDA MP failure to which it will be treated as an offence.

“Take further notice that pursuant to Section 29 of the NCI Act, Summons, issued by the Commission must be obeyed as if such summons were issued by the High Court. Whereas that failure to appear in person at the aforementioned place, date, and time, is an offence as provided under Section 63(c) as read with section 63 ( e) of the National Cohesion and Integration Act,” the letter added.

Kagombe had in April proposed that primary school students should only transition to secondary schools located in their respective counties.

He claimed that students from other localities were being admitted to schools in Kiambu County and denying area students chances.

"In Kiambu, our secondary schools are teaching students from other areas because we have the quarter system. Leaders in those areas don't use CDF money to build schools because they know they will send their students to Kiambu.

“Their job is to use the money to build personal houses and big malls in Eastleigh. We are saying everyone must study at their respective counties,” said Kagombe.
