Kalonzo on Tuesday missed the Azimio la Umoja coalition's rally in Kamukunji raising eyebrows among supporters.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday, June 29 met the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at Lambeth Palace, in London, United Kingdom.

In a statement via Twitter, Kalonzo stated that he was reminded of the Beatitudes during the visit to Lambeth Palace.

 "I was especially reminded of the Beatitudes; "Mathew 5:9 - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God," he stated. 

The Wiper leader also noted that they discussed matters of international importance including the Sudan crisis.

“We spent time discussing a number of matters of international importance particularly on African affairs including the South Sudan conflict together with the Archbishop of Canterbury's Special Representative on the conflict in the Sub-sahara Africa, Bishop Precious Okomu, and the very Reverend Canon Dr Sammy Wainaina, Provost of All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi, Kenya and the Advisor for Anglican Communion Affairs for the His Grace Arch. Justin Welby. It is our collective prayer that everlastingly peace will prevail in our region,” he added.

Kalonzo’s statement comes after he missed the Azimio la Umoja rally in Kamukunji on Tuesday, raising eyebrows among its supporters.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga however told the Azimio supporters that Kalonzo was on a foreign trip.

"Nimeongea na Ndugu yangu Kalonzo, ako huko Ulaya na hiyo ndio sababu hayuko hapa na sisi Leo. Amenituma niwasalimie. Mumepokea," Raila said.
