Martha Karua has responded to reports of falling out with Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has dismissed claims of splitting with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga after she missed the Saba Saba Kamukunji Rally on Friday.

Karua in a tweet on Sunday, July 9 stated that she missed the Kamukunji rally as she was leading a Saba Saba rally in Kirinyaga County where she kick-started the collection of signatures to remove President William Ruto from power.

The Narc Kenya leader was responding to claims that she was pulling back from the Azimio leadership after former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria was brought on board by Raila.

The Azimio coalition of Friday held several rallies across the country in a move to have its supporters own up the resistance at the grass root level.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka led the Saba Saba protests in Kathiani Machakos County while Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Roots Party leader George Wajackoya, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa were in the Western region.

Raila led the protests in Nairobi where he held a rally in Kamukunji grounds before asking his supporters to march peacefully to Central Park in Nairobi CBD.

The opposition leader announced that the demos will resume on Wednesday next week.

At the same time, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has chided Azimio la Umoja's plan to collect 10 million signatures to topple President William Ruto.

"We are very disturbed by the events of yesterday. The destruction that came out of the ill-planned demonstration by Azimio. These Azimio people must know that elections are over, they must move. The truth is that William Ruto is the president and nothing can change that fact. Even if Azimio collects 10 million signatures, where will they take them?" Gachagua said on Saturday.
