Raila On Friday announced that the anti-government demos will continue on Wednesday next week.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party Secretary General Cleophas Malalah has warned the Azimio la Umoja coalition against holding anti-government protests next week.

Speaking on Saturday, July 8 in Garsen, Tana River County, Malalah stated that the government is tired of the destruction of property during protests and will arrest Azimio leader Raila Odinga if he leads demos next week.

“I want to tell Raila that if he continues to destroy properties belonging to Kenyans, chase away tourists, and use the youth badly we will arrest you and take you to court like any other Kenyan,” said Malalah.

He added “We want to ask Interior CS Kithure Kindiki not to entertain Raila Odinga. I heard them saying they will continue with the protests next week, we want to dare and tell them if they are men enough to hold the demos. We have prepared ourselves and we will start by arresting Raila.”

Malalah’s remarks come after the Azimio coalition staged Saba Saba protests across the country on Friday.

The opposition coalition at the same time launched a signature collection campaign to remove President William Ruto from office over failure to address the high cost of living, increased taxes, election frauds, and recruitment of IEBC commissioners.

Raila led the protests in Nairobi while Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua was in Kirinyaga County and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was in Kathiani, Machakos County.

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Roots Party leader George Wajackoya, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa were in the Western region.

Addressing the media at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation after the demos, Raila announced that the anti-government protests would continue on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, across the country.

“We thank Kenyans and assure that mapambano itaendelea. Tutakuwa uwanjani tena wiki ijayo siku ya jumatano,” said Raila.
