The Azimio negotiation team will be led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has chided Mt Kenya politicians in the Azimio la Umoja coalition after they were left out of the new negotiation team that will debate with Kenya Kwanza.

In a statement via Twitter on Monday, July 31, Ahmednasir said ODM leader Raila Odinga and the Azimio coalition have realized that Mt Kenya politicians are ‘parasites’.

“Hon Raila and Azimio coalition have realized what the result of the country knew all along...Central Kenya politicians in Azimio are parasites and freeloaders,” he tweeted.

This is after the opposition coalition unveiled a five-member negotiations team that will be led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Other members are; National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, DAP Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.

Azimio also pointed out that its position remains that no party in the new negotiations can claim a right to determine for the other what to raise and what not to raise.

“Azimio will respect Kenya Kwanza's right to bring all its issues to the table. We expect Kenya Kwanza to do the same with our issues,” Azimio stated.

The coalition’s issues include; the high cost of living, audit of 2022 elections, bipartisan reconstitution of IEBC, inclusivity in national affairs, and respect for political parties in line with the constitution.

Azimio further stated that it’s keen on a time-bound program of talks that should begin on August 1, 2023, and take one month.
