"I hope Mr Kipchumba Murkomen and Bwana Mbugua that the lady no longer works for the government of Kenya."

President William Ruto has revealed that some Kenyan ministries had deep-rooted corrupt individuals who could not be touched.

Addressing Cabinet Secretaries and PSs during the signing of Performance Contracts at State Hous in Nairobi, the President gave a case example of a lady at the transport ministry who he claimed was corrupt to the core.

Ruto said attempts to transfer the lady were futile as she devised ways of keeping herself at the road department.

"There was one lady in the roads department who was corrupt to the core. To the extent that she could not be transferred by anybody, even by the minister, because if she was transferred she will go to court, buy the court process and make sure that she is returned. That is the kind of chronic where corruption has taken us," he said.

The President went on to remind the CS For Transport Kipchumba Murkomen that the lady should be out of service by now.

"I hope Mr Kipchumba Murkomen and Bwana Mbugua that the lady no longer works for the government of Kenya," the President said adding that there are people who have made the government their private property.

The president made the remarks while firing a warning to state officers over corruption saying that he will not tolerate that in his government.

"It will not be business as usual. I committed to the people of Kenya that there would be no money to steal. There is only money to deliver on the programs, projects, and aspirations of the people of Kenya," he said.

The President said he is keen on delivering his campaign promises and not reneging on any pledge he made to Kenyans during his campaign.

"A political culture of poor promise-keeping, as well as endemic corruption, has done significant damage to our social fabric by eroding trust in government and widening the rift that separates citizens' aspirations from government policy. We cannot wait and see where this road may lead. It is time it comes to an end," Ruto said.
