“Suluhu was to meet Raila first then meet President Ruto and they agree among themselves if they will involve other people in the talks," Kalonzo Musyoka.

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed reports that he was left out of Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga’s meeting with Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu last month.

Speaking on Saturday, August 5 during an interview, Kalonzo said the opposition leader invited top Azimio leadership for a meeting at his office and informed them about President Suluhu’s private visit to Kenya to discuss a truce with the government.

“Raila, Karua, and I plus other Azimio leaders went for lunch and during that time Raila told us to meet him at his office. When we arrived there, he told us that he had spoken with officials in the Tanzanian government and President Suluhu was coming,” said Kalonzo.

The Wiper Party Leader noted that the Azimio co-principals gave Raila the go-ahead to meet with Suluhu but asked him not to give any commitments without their approval.

According to Kalonzo, the plan was for President Suluhu to meet with Odinga and then meet with President Ruto before agreeing to involve other people in the talks.

“Suluhu was to meet Raila first then meet President Ruto and they agree among themselves if they will involve other people in the talks,” Kalonzo explained.

He further slammed the Kenyan government for denying that President Suluhu came into the country saying as former foreign affairs minister there was no way a Head of State was to come to Kenya without the invitation of President Ruto.

Raila during an interview on July 25 said the visit did not see light as the Kenya Kwanza government kept the neighboring President waiting for nearly two days.

"Two weeks ago, Mama Suluhu Samia came to Nairobi to try and mediate but she was kept waiting for two days and went back," Raila said.
