The oncoming dialogue between the government and the opposition will not alleviate the after-effects of the biting cost of living, says Senate Speaker Amason Kingi.
While evaluating the issues outlined for the talks, Kingi said most of them are to politicians' benefits at the expense of Kenyans, adding that they are already pending in both houses of parliament.
According to him, nothing will come out of the talks to the the advantage of Kenyans.
"I have been in this space long enough to observe something, nothing will come out of this talks, but from the plan the president has," he said.
Kingi stated that issues like the two-thirds gender balance, and creation of the Office of the Opposition Leader, which constitute the items to be discussed, are already seized of the legislators.

"Look at the issues that are supposed to be discussed; IEBC, the Office of the Official Opposition, yet the president wrote a memorandum to the two speakers and those are the very same issues pending in the two houses of parliament. So why should this become an agenda yet we're now fixing them," he said.
Kingi was addressing the congregants at the Sagana State Lodge where an interdenominational church service was held.
Meanwhile, both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio La Umoja are undecided on the issues to be deliberated on.
While Kenya Kwanza has listed the reconstitution of the IEBC, two-thirds gender rule, and the creation of the Office of the Opposition Leader, Azimio wants, among other things, the escalating cost of living, audit into the IEBC servers and issue of police brutality in the recent anti-government protests addressed.
