The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced plans to promote 36,000 teachers. 

The promotions are set to be done across the nine grades where teachers belong. 

"Promotions will be spread across primary, secondary schools and Teacher training colleges," TSC said in a notice. 

12,716 positions of promotion have been set aside for Senior masters who are in C4. Senior Teachers who have been working in grade C2 have 10,819 positions for grabs in the promotion exercise.

"For headteachers, the commission has set aside 1,049 promotions under grade C5."

700 promotion positions have been set aside for senior teachers in special needs schools in grade C2 while 200 more positions for senior lecturers in Teachers' training colleges.

For senior principals, TSC stated that they have slated 108 promotional positions.

"Those who are interested in the positions should send their applications by September 8, 2023, through the TSC portal," the statement read. 

The announcement comes barely a week after some 14,000 teachers were promoted.
