Looks Like People Don’t Know Who President Ruto Is - Governor Mbarire

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has defended President William Ruto over his frequent county tours.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 10, Mbarire noted that most Kenyans do not know the kind of person President Ruto is.

She described President Ruto as a hands-on person who goes around to find out how the implementation of his plan is going.

“Looks like people don’t know who President William Ruto is; he is not one to sit at State House awaiting reports from CS’s and PS’s. He will go to the ground and find out for himself how the implementation of the plan is unfolding,” Mbarire stated.

The UDA governor urged Kenyans to get used to President Ruto's energy and leadership style.

Mbarire was responding to remarks by political analyst Herman Manyora that the Head of State's frequent travels were draining county resources.

Manyora, in an update on Monday, urged President Ruto to consider stopping the county visits, saying they were disruptive. 

“Consider putting these visits and launches to a stop. They are becoming too much and a drain on our meager resources. Your Excellency, moving the president around is costly. Your Excellency, it may interest you to know that all work stops when you’re around. Like the entire western region shut for all the time you were there,” said Manyora. 

President Ruto is currently touring the Western region to launch development projects. 

The Head of State previously visited Kisii, Nyamira, Nakuru, Nyandarua, and Baringo counties.
