Historically, tigers have not only never lived in Kenya but the whole of Africa.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's remarks in Colombia that indicated Kenya has tigers have triggered massive reactions on social media with a section of Kenyans making a mockery of it.

The Deputy President in one of his addresses in Colombia appealed to the Citizens of the said nation to visit Kenya and enjoy the iconic wildlife that boasts of various wildlife animals including tigers.

“We have rare species of wildlife in Kenya. The elephant, the rhino, the buffalo, and the tiger,” DP Gachagua said.

The comment on the tiger has exposed the DP badly considering the fact that it is not true.

Tigers are not even found in any country in Africa.

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest living cat species and a member of the genus Panthera. It is most recognisable for its dark vertical stripes on orange fur with a white underside.
