Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s daughter Maryanne Mudavadi on Saturday, September 16 tied the knot with her lover Nyaga Karanja in a traditional ceremony held in Mt Kenya. 

The traditional wedding, which is known as Kuara Itara, is customary practice in the Kikuyu community where the bride’s family visits the groom's home to see where their daughter will settle. The ceremony is held after the ruracio event at the bride’s home. 

The ushers wore navy blue dresses with gold stripes and buttons and a gold stewardess cap. The groom wore a brown and cream outfit, while the bride wore a chestnut brown dress. 

Other guests wore a variety of outfits, from suits to more casual outfits, complemented by Panama hats. 

The reception was attractive, with tables decorated with bright orange bouquets in keeping with the theme.

This comes weeks after Karanja and Maryanne held a ruracio at Mudavadi's Mululu home in Vihiga County, attended by close family and friends, including Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe's son, Davidson Wakairu. 

Karanja is a lawyer by profession, while Maryanne works as a recruiter for a prominent Kenyan bank.

She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Sussex in the UK and a Masters in Human Resource Management from the same institution.
