"You can't be at a dignified meeting and then wake up to fight the vice chairman of the ruling party. Kioni, we want to warn you.”

UDA Secretary General Cleophas Mlalah has slammed Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni over his clash with EALA MP Hassan Omar during the bi-partisan talks at Bomas of Kenya.

Speaking on Friday, September 22 in Narok, Malalah urged Kioni to challenge the Kenya Kwanza team with ideologies instead of using violence.

"That guy called Kioni, woke up and said that these talks are meaningless, he wants to resort to violence. We want to tell him to avoid chaos and fighting with fists. Challenge us with intellectual ideas, give us your ideologies. You can't be at a dignified meeting and then wake up to fight the vice chairman of the ruling party. Kioni, we want to warn you,” said Malalah.

The UDA SG at the same time noted that the Kenya Kwanza side supports the talks with the opposition.

“Our stance is that we still support those talks happening at the Bomas of Kenya, that is why we have placed our top cream there. The party chairperson is there, the leader of the majority in the national assembly, the leader of the majority in the senate, and our vice chairpersons are all there to engage in discussions,” he added.

His remarks come after Kioni accused Omar of disrespecting Gikuyus, leading to the fierce clash that brought the bi-partisan talks to a standstill.

"He has no respect for Jubilee and the Gikuyus in Jubilee. He believes we should not be seated there. If he asks tulileta Kura ngapi hiyo sinikusema hatuna maana kuwa pale," said Kioni on Thursday.

Omar is said to have been angered by Kioni's remarks he made last week that the talks will head to nowhere.
