The water supply will be interrupted between Thursday, October 12 from 6 am to Friday, October 13 at 12 pm.

The Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company has released a list of areas that are set to experience water supply interruption.

A notice by the company indicated that the water supply will be interrupted between Thursday, October 12 from 6 am to Friday, October 13 at 12 pm.

The water supply interruption was scheduled on October 5 but it failed to happen due to unavoidable circumstances.

"The shutdown of the plant will facilitate repair of a major leakage on the raw water pipeline between Matara Raw Water Chamber and Ngethu Water Treatment Plant," Nairobi Water said in the notice.

"It will also involve carrying out a scheduled maintenance at the Kiambu reservoir, in preparation for the upcoming El NiƱo rains."

During the operation, the whole of Nairobi's Central Business District, University of Nairobi Main Campus, Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River, Mlolongo Area, Gatundu and Kiambu town will lack water supply.

South B, South C and its neighbourhood including Embakasi Area are among the affected regions along the Mombasa Road.

The whole of the Industrial Area will also be hit by the water supply interruption.

Mlango Kubwa, the whole of Mathare, Eastleigh Airforce Base, Huruma, Kariobangi, Pangani and Eastleigh are areas along Juja road that will be affected.

Along the Outer-ring road, Baba Ndogo, Dandora, Dandora KCC Factory, Umoja Estate 1 and 2, Fedha, Donholm, Tassia, Avenue Park and Nyayo Embakasi will be affected.

Ruai, Kayole, Komarock estate, Mwiki and Njiru are areas along the Kangundo road that will lack a supply of water.

Thika road areas will also experience water supply interruption. The specific areas to be affected are Kenya Breweries, Kenyatta University, Githurai, Zimmerman, Kahawa West, Kahawa Barracks, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Kahawa Wendani, Brookside Dairies, Garden Estate and Thome Estate.

Along Limuru road, the affected areas include Parklands, Ngara, Aga Khan Hospital, University of Nairobi- School of Law and City Park Area, Gigiri, United Nations- Gigiri and Muthaiga.

Along Naivasha and Kikuyu road, the affected areas include  Kawangware, Riruta/Satellite, Uthiru and Ndwaru Road.

Madaraka, Karen, Lang'ata and Kibra along the Lang'ata Road will also be affected.

Areas along James Gichuru Road, Lang'ata Road and Waiyaki Way, Riverside, Westlands, Lavington, Kilimani and Kileleshwa.

"Whilst every effort will be made to restore the supply of water as soon as possible, we request all customers in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the period of interruption," The Notice added.
