ODM has received a letter calling for the expulsion of a Governor.

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has received a letter from Gad Aguko calling for the expulsion of Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai.

In an update via X on Wednesday, October 18, ODM said necessary action will be taken on the governor according to the party’s constitution.

“The Party is in receipt of this letter calling for the expulsion of the Governor of Turkana Jeremiah Napotikan Lomorukai from the party. Necessary action shall be taken in accordance with the constitution of the party and the relevant laws that govern political parties,” ODM stated.

Aguko in the letter observed that Governor Lomorukai went against the ODM party by declaring his allegiance and support to President William Ruto during the official opening of the Turkana Cultural and Tourism Festival 'Tobonglore' in Lodwar.

“The said remarks by his Excellency the Governor of Turkana Hon. Jeremiah Ekamais Lomorukai were made with the intention of subjecting both the ODM party and our Party Leader. H. E. Hon. Raila Odinga into ridicule, embarrassment, anxiety and disgust,” read the letter in part.

Governor Lomorukai on October 12 said he will work with President Ruto and support his agenda noting that he would not be threatened over his association with the Head of State.

The ODM Governor went on to say that he will deliver the Turkana votes to President Ruto in the 20227 general elections.

"I will work with you today, tomorrow, and all the days to come. I will bring you the Turkana County votes, there is no bargaining about that. I will deliver for you all the six sub-counties,” Lomorukai said.
