President William Ruto has made new appointments to his government.

President William Ruto has yet again made fresh appointments to government parastatals and corporations.

In a gazette notice dated October 19, President Ruto appointed Sophia Kutiti to be the chairperson of the Mineral Rights Board.

She will serve in the position for a period of three years effective October 19, 2023.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 (2) (a) of the Mining Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Sophia Kutiti Olesambu to be the Chairperson of the Mineral Rights Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 19th October 2023,” the notice read.

President Ruto at the same time re-appointed Professor Justin Irina as the Chancellor of the Murang’a University.

Irina will serve in the role for another five years with effect from the 19th October 2023.

In other appointments, Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Nickson Wanjau Mwangi to the Auctioneers Licensing Board, for a term of three years, with effect from October, 23, 2023.

Labour CS Florence Bore appointed Timothy Irimu Ruhiu, to be a member of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, for a period of three years.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu appointed Mike Kuria, Kipkirui Langat, Everline Owoko, Jacqueline Mugo, and Collins Oyu as new members of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority, for a period of three years.
