"Any serious talks will not last more than 30 days," Martha Karua.

NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has disclosed that she is disappointed with the extension of the deadline to conclude the Bipartisan talks between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza.

Speaking during an interview on TV 47, Karua noted that any serious talks should not take more than 30 days adding that President William Ruto's regime is buying time.

"I am deeply disappointed that we keep on moving the time and deadline for the Bipartisan talks. Initially, Azimio had called for 30 days only, they should have ended by 30th August. Then came the talks which then moved it by 60 days, now again it's been shifted by another 30 days to November.

"Any serious talks would not take more than 30 days. I have been involved in talks, I was involved in Inter-Parties Parliamentary Group (IPPG), we took a record two weeks and we did constitutional and legal amendments and this was an ad-hoc committee of parliament," Martha Karua stated.

She added," Where there is the commitment of the regime, talks should never exceed a month, where you see a regime bringing its on issues which were not subject of the demonstrations, know that they are buying time. The Ruto regime needs time, Kenyans need action."

Karua seemed to suggest that they were dealing with slippery characters in President Ruto's regime and urged Azimio to be cautious.

At the same time, Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Sunday announced that he not sign the final bipartisan committee report if there was no provision to reduce the high cost of living.

"There will be no signing of the bipartisan committee report if it doesn’t have a provision for the reduction of the cost of living," Odinga said.

The National Dialogue Committee on Monday retreated to Naivasha, Nakuru County where they are expected to draft the final report of the Bipartisan talks.
