Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says the National Dialogue Committee is handling the cost of living issue.

In a statement on Tuesday, October 24, Kalonzo said the committee has written to experts who will help them navigate through the issue. 

“The National Dialogue Committee has been able to make great progress on the agendas tabled by both parties. We are now handling the critical matter of the Cost of Living. Today we have signed off letters inviting experts who will help us navigate through this matter of great national importance,” said Kalonzo.

The update comes after the dialogue committee concluded its two-day retreat in Naivasha Nakuru County where it was writing its final report on the bipartisan talks.

Speaking in Naivasha, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah said the technical teams have been tasked with drafting bills that will actualize issued that have been agreed on in the committee.

“We have also discussed and agreed on issues pertaining to the fidelity of political parties and multiparty democracy and we have now tasked our technical teams to begin drafting the instruments or bills that will actualize the areas of convergence that we have agreed on,” said Ichung’wah.

The bipartisan committee is scheduled to resume roundtable talks on Tuesday, October 31 at Bomas of Kenya.
