"You can still pack your stuff and get out. You are not nailed to the office walls. Badala ya kulia kila siku," Mutuma told Ndii.

President William Ruto’s economic advisor David Ndii has clashed bitterly with former Editor-in-Chief at Nation Media Group Mutuma Mathiu.

It all started after Ndii shared a tweet disparaging Former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the tweet, Ndii blamed Uhuru for doing nothing to protect Kenya's forex reserves adding that he is the cause of the weakening shiling.

"Uhuru did nothing of the sort. He burned our forex reserves propping up both the shilling and interest rates artificially, and now we become the falls guys for biting the bullet. You don’t know how often I wish we lost the election to see the dynasty brothers wading in their mistake," Ndii noted.

The remarks angered Mutuma who fired back at him telling him to vacate office instead of lamenting every day.

Mutua told the economist that he is paid a lot of money by Kenyans not to lament but to address issues facing the nation.

"You can still pack your stuff and get out. You are not nailed to the office walls. Badala ya kulia kila siku and you live in a cocoon where you earn $1500 a day, you don’t pay rent, power, fuel, fees or anything. Just shut up and eat our sweat," he responded.

His response prompted Ndii to fire back at him claiming that he sold his profession for backing Uhuru but got nothing to show for it.

"Azimio CS for Information. Threw professional reputation for nothing. Pole. Inauma lakini itabidi uzoe," he said.
