Kisii Governor Simba Arati has broken silence after a contingent of General Service Unit (GSU) officers surrounded his office at Gusii Stadium on Monday, October 30.
Addressing the media, Arati said he has not committed any offense and if there is any issue the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Ethic and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should probe him.
"I am the governor of this county, there are no mistakes whatsoever, even if there is an investigation it should be conducted by the DCI or EACC,” said Arati.-
The Kisii Governor said he received intel on Sunday that his office and home will be raided by police officers.
He went on to explain that after talking to the officers and asking why they were at his office they told him they were resting.

"When I spoke to them and asked what they were doing at the stadium, they said, 'No, we were just resting.' I asked them how they could be resting when they had taken positions at every door of my office?" he posed.
Arati also claimed that the officers were waiting for a court order before raiding his office and home.
The ODM Governor further alleged that there are some people who are plotting to revenge against him over the 2022 general elections.
"The rumor I am getting is that there are people who are bitter and want revenge. I wonder, what are they seeking revenge for?" he posed.
Meanwhile, the ODM party has condemned the move to deploy GSU officers at Governor Aratis’ office adding that they should instead be restoring peace in bandit-prone areas.
“If there are any queries or questionable activities involving the Governor warranting investigations, we urge the Kenya Kwanza administration to use the appropriate channels of investigation that is the DCI or EACC and not deploying lorry loads of GSU personnel to cause fear among the residents of Kisii town," ODM stated.
