The body of Kamande Mburu was discovered at the entrance of his house on Monday night.


A man in Githurai, Nairobi County, has surrendered to police after he allegedly murdered his roommate.

The two are said to have been residing together.

Police said an observation carried out on it showed that it had some stab wounds in the chest.

Mburu, a 25-year-old man, is said to have engaged in a quarrel and later a fight with his roommate leading to the tragedy.

The reason for the quarrel and fight with his assailant is yet to be known.

Upon the discovery of his body, a man is said to have walked to the Kasarani Police station and reported himself over the murder.

He was arrested at that juncture and detained ahead of his arraignment to face murder charges.

Police are expected to ask for more days to conclude the probe on the matter before moving the file to the DPP to press charges.

According to the Police, they recovered a murder weapon, a kitchen knife, that was used in the attack.

Police are yet to establish the motive of the incident.

Police processed the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy.
