Musalia Mudavadi's secretary for government strategic communications has resigned. 

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s secretary, Kibisu Kabatesi has resigned.

In a letter to Mudavadi dated October 25, Kabatesi who was the secretary for government strategic communications, said he resigned from the position due to personal reasons.

“I would have wished that we continued the great work of streamlining Government communications to create a conversation between Government its Citizens, save that for personal reasons, I undertake to resign from the position of Secretary, Government Strategic Communications effective November 1, 2023.

"I do this with a clear conscience and utmost humility that my talents will find utility at another time in the service of our great country,” read the letter in part.

Kabatesi also thanked President William Ruto for giving him the chance to serve in the position and Mudavadi for his support while he served under him.

He further requested the Prime Cabinet Secretary to pay him all dues that accumulated while he served in his office.

“Vide this letter, may I humbly request for payment of all my accumulated dues/arrears simultaneously with my resignation,” the letter added. 

Kabatesi has been a long-serving aide for Mudavadi alternatively serving as his director for communications.

He boasts over 40 years in the media industry with vast knowledge of media coverage, having served as a TV producer, writer, editor, and publicist.
