The former KTN and K24 senior reporter was among the 132 men who graduated from Pastor Dorcas Rigathi’s rehabilitation program. 

Former KTN and K24 senior reporter Johana Chacha is among the 132 men who graduated from Pastor Dorcas Rigathi’s rehabilitation program on Wednesday, November 22 in Olkalou, Nyandarua County. 

The former journalist was fired in 2016 after he missed work for three consecutive days because of alcoholism.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Pastor Dorcas asked Chacha to use his new role to talk to other Kenyans who are struggling with alcoholism. 

“To the reporter (Johana Chacha) I will offer you a job in my office so that you can help me to talk to others who are still in drug abuse,“said Pastor Dorcas.

The colorful graduation brought together men who were rehabilitated at the ASK Showgrounds in Nairobi and Marylyn Wellness Centre in Limuru in Kiambu County.

Pastor Dorcas noted the transformation of the men who voluntarily joined her rehabilitation program from various parts of Nairobi County. 

“These are the economic drivers of this country, and we cannot afford to leave them in the gutters, “ she said.

Leaders present promised to support the program as well as seek job placements for the jobs.

Nyandarua Senator John Methu lauded the efforts by Pastor Dorcas terming them visionary and the biggest way in saving the future of the nation.

Chacha on Tuesday disclosed that when he heard Pastor Dorcas was running a rehabilitation program for the youth in alcoholism, drugs, and substance abuse in Nairobi’s Dagoreti area, he didn't hesitate to join the program.
