"I will deal with them, Kenyans gave me the power to fight those corrupt individuals."

President William Ruto has fired a stern warning to individuals who have moved to court to block the implementation of the Social Health Act.

Speaking on Thursday in Baringo County, Ruto claimed that the individuals are beneficiaries of corruption in the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

The Head of State vowed to expose them and make sure Kenyans benefit from universal health coverage.

“We are not going to accept blackmail because the characters who are sponsoring court cases against UHC are the people who are beneficiaries of corruption in NHIF and health institutions that is why they have taken their fight to court,” said Ruto.

He added, “I want to tell you we will expose all of them and we will make sure that what we are doing in health is going to be delivered for the benefit of millions of Kenyans.”

President Ruto mentioned that he will not allow corruption in the health sector saying he will use his power as the Head of State to deal with the individuals.

"I will deal with them, Kenyans gave me the power to fight those corrupt individuals. I have already announced, I said there are three things; there is no way they will pass through," Ruto stated.

His warning comes after the High Court issued conservatory orders against the implementation of the Social Health Insurance Act 2023 by the Ministry of Health until February 2024.

Justice Chacha Mwita while issuing the orders said he was satisfied by a petition filed by Joseph Aura.

"That in the meantime, a conservatory order is hereby issued restraining the respondents, their agents, and or anyone acting on their directives from implementing and or enforcing the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023; the Primary Health Care Act, 2023, and the Digital Health Act, 2023 until February 7, 2024," Mwita ruled.
