CS Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday faced a backlash online after sharing a video of a tuk-tuk carrying eight passengers.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday, December 21 came under sharp criticism after sharing a video of a tuk-tuk carrying eight passengers that had been impounded by NTSA officials.

Murkomen stated that the tuktuk was stopped along the Kisumu-Nairobi Road noting that it was dangerously overloaded.

The Transport CS called on passengers not to encourage unsafe road behaviors.

“To all passengers, please don't encourage this kind of unsafe road behavior by keeping quiet. Protest when you see a bus driver or a Tuktuk cyclist starting to overload. Let's stop risking lives on our roads. Remember that road safety is everyone's responsibility,” Murkomen stated.
