The threat came up after Miguna and Mutahi Ngunyi faced off over President Ruto's latest stance against the Judiciary.

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has threatened to institute a legal suit against lawyer Miguna Miguna over defamation claims.

Using X, formerly Twitter, the duo took on each other over President William Ruto's recent stance on the Judiciary.

While Ngunyi sided with the president, Miguna dissented from him, asking him (Ruto) to respect the independence of the Martha Koome-led arm of government.

Ngunyi has claimed corruption had been incorporated into the Judiciary and that the president was right to call out the judges.

Their face-off degenerated into diatribes against each other, with the lawyer reviving the claims of the political analyst having been involved in the multi-million shilling scandal at the NYS.

Miguna claimed Ngunyi was among the beneficiaries of the scandal unearthed in 2016.

"Mutahi Ngunyi, you are not qualified to advise anyone about corruption. You are rotten to the core. You stole public money through the NYS scandal but you haven’t been punished for it. You intentionally burnt down your house a few years ago and stole insurance money," started Miguna.

Taking offence at Miguna's claims, Ngunyi threatened to sue him, with the former's house in Runda being ropped in as collateral.

The political analyst threatened to present Miguna before justice both in Nairobi and Canada.

"Miguna...If you call me a thief again without evidence, I will sue you in Kenya and Canada. Then I will have your Runda house auctioned. I have the LR number, details and means," threatened Ngunyi.
