Kenyans were also elated with the West Ham star for recognizing Kenya as his best holiday destination.

The former Leeds player’s connection with Kenya dates back to July 2022 when he visited the country and spent two weeks.

During the visit, Phillips who was in the company of his girlfriend toured the Tsavo National Park and stayed at a luxurious camp within the destination.

“The past two weeks we travelled to Kenya on a Safari which was an experience I don’t think we will ever be able to top!! Me and Ashleigh absolutely love animals so having the chance to do our best David Attenborough is something we won't ever forget seeing these animals in the wild was unreal! " Phillips stated then.

He added, " We also had the opportunity to visit a Masai village. It was an incredible time learning about the history of the tribe. Experiences like this really puts things into perspective and the people were so welcoming."
