The university student was arrested in Mshoroni, Kiasuni sub-county. 

Killian Dunda a 24-year-old Technical University of Kenya student has been arrested after being found in possession of heroin worth Sh 1.2 million.

In a statement on Thursday, February 1, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the student was apprehended by Anti-narcotic officers from the Moi International Airport.

“The Moi International Airport Anti-narcotics officers based in Mombasa yesterday recovered 300g of heroin from the house of a 24-year-old Technical University of Mombasa student,” read the statement in part.

The detectives arrested the suspect in Mshoroni, Kiasuni sub-county after receiving an intelligent report. They found a clear polythene bag with a brownish/whitish drug which tested positive for heroin.

“The exhibit was secured pending further sampling at the government chemist, as the suspect awaits arraignment today,” DCI added.

This comes a day after Anti Nacortic unit detectives raided a residence in Kamulu, Kangundo Road, and arrested four individuals.

During the operation, the sleuths recovered dry plant materials suspected to be narcotic drugs (Cannabis sativa) weighing approximately 15kg.

“The suspect, with his three accomplices namely Mario Amukula, Josephine Shimunza, and Shirimana Dorine allegedly from Burundi who had no identification documents were arrested and escorted to Kasarani Police Station and placed in custody,” DCI said in a statement.
