Senator Okiya Omtatah was on Friday, February 16, involved in an accident on his way to Busia.

The Senator disclosed that a trailer lost control after the brakes failed and hit his vehicle. 

The trailer then landed in a ditch as Omtatah's car tried to swerve. 

"The trailer landed in a ditch. It was going to be a bad accident but I was lucky," the Senator said.

Senator Okiya Omtatah's car that was hit by a trailer. 

The Senator and the driver did not sustain injuries.  Officers from Maseno police station have processed the scene. 

The Senator was able to head home after police officers provided him with a vehicle as they processed the crime scene.
