Elgeyo Marakwet Women Representative Caroline Ng'elechei Jeptoo was on Monday, February 26 involved in an accident along the Moim-Kapkoi road in Uasin Gishu County.

The accident happened after the vehicle’s brakes failed causing it to overturn on the murram road.

Luckily, the UDA politician, her driver, and other occupants in the vehicle escaped unhurt.

Photos of the accident scene seen by Nairobi Leo.co.ke showed Ng'elechei’s Toyota Land Cruiser TZG rolled onto one of its sides on the road and somewhat damaged.

By the time of publishing this article, the UDA politician was yet to release a statement about the accident.

The accident comes days after Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah was involved in an accident on his way to Busia.

The activist-turned-politician disclosed that the accident happened after a trailer lost control after the brakes failed and hit his vehicle.

Omtatah who was with his driver, survived the accident without sustaining any injuries.

"The trailer landed in a ditch. It was going to be a bad accident but I was lucky," the Senator said.

Igembe South Member of Parliament John Paul Mwirigi was also involved in an accident on Tuesday last week in Chuka, Meru County.

The accident happened after the MP’s vehicle veered off the road and rolled onto one of its sides. All the passengers in the vehicle escaped unhurt including the UDA MP.
