Former Mukurweini Kabando Wa Kabando has lashed out at President William Ruto over the government's commitment to deploy police officers to Haiti.
Kabando wondered about the government's urgency in securing the Haitian citizens at the expense of Kenyans facing banditry and other insecurity menaces.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the former lawmaker claimed the president was eyeing some benefits in the mission.
According to him, Ruto was running after monetary benefits from unmentioned sources.
"Our Rais is a puppet of foreigners. Ruto's greed lined their pocket with dollars sacrificing police for a massacre in Haiti. He has completely failed to protect Kenyan citizens from being killed by terror bandits in Baringo, Samburu, Pokot, Turkana, Marakwet and Lamu. Ruto, go live in Haiti!" Kabando fired at the president.

Kabando's outburst came a day after Kenya and Haiti formalized the deployment of 1,000 police officers to the North American nation by signing an agreement.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki signed the agreement with his Haitian counterpart on Friday, March 1 at State House.
Ruto and Haiti Prime Minister Ariel Henry were also present.
In a statement after the agreement was signed, Ruto said they also discussed the next steps to be taken to fast-track the deployment of the officers.
“Today, March 1, 2024, I am pleased to inform you that Prime Minister Ariel Henri and I have witnessed the signing of this instrument. We have also discussed the next steps to enable the fast-tracking of the deployment,” said Ruto.
He added,” I take this opportunity to reiterate Kenya's commitment to contribute to the success of this multi-national mission. We believe this is a historic duty because peace in Haiti is good for the world as a whole.”
