Chief Justice Martha Koome has announced the passing of a judicial officer.

The President of the Supreme Court of Kenya indicated the deceased judicial officer is known as Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang'.

Before her demise, Muthoni served as a Resident Magistrate at Butere Law Courts. She previously worked at Kibera and Thika Law Courts.

CJ Koome described the deceased as a kind soul who exhibited the highest levels of professionalism in the courtrooms.

"In addition to her professional achievements, Hon. Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang' was a friend to many within the Judiciary. She was known for her kindness, generosity, courage, warmth, and wisdom, which touched many lives," Koome stated.

"On behalf of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission, and myself, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends. As we share in your grief, we pray for strength and solace in this trying time. May her soul rest in eternal peace," she added.

The cause of her death was however not immediately revealed by the Chief Justice.

At the Kibera Law Courts, she handled several cases ranging from assault, robbery and fraud. 

Besides serving in Butere, she also served as an adjudicator in proceedings under the Small Claims Court following designation by CJ Koome.
