The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a manhunt for a Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officer over allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl in Nandi County.

In a statement on Monday, March 18, the DCI said the officer reportedly grabbed the minor while she was fetching firewood at Kipkurere forest on Sunday before taking her to his house and defiling her.

“Police in Tinderet, Nandi County are hunting down a Kenya Forest officer reported to have grabbed a 16-year-old girl while she fetched firewood at Kipkurere forest yesterday, before dragging her to his house where he defiled her,” read the statement in part.

According to the DCI, the suspect who has been identified as Nixon Mwangi, chased away a group of girls from the forest where they were picking fallen wood debris, catching up with the unlucky Form Two student from a local school.
