“We are challenging the ODM party to substantiate the allegations which in the face of things seem unfounded."

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has dismissed claims of a plan by the government to destabilize ODM-run counties and constituencies.

Addressing the media on Thursday, May 9, UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malalah challenged the ODM party to substantiate the claims against the government.

“We are challenging the ODM party to substantiate the allegations which in the face of things seem unfounded. The ODM sentiments are full of wild and unsubstituted against three senior government officials. ODM is seeing enemies in the three where there are none,” Malalah stated.

The UDA SG at the same time alleged that ODM-run- counties are being mismanaged by governors who are being protected by the ODM party.

Malalah further announced that they will be exposing how ODM governors are using county funds to facilitate private political activities of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“ODM counties are being mismanaged by corrupt incompetent and inept governors who are getting full protection from the ODM party itself. We will be providing evidence of how ODM governors have been withdrawing funds from county coffers to fund private political activities of their party leader Raila Amolo Odinga,” Malalah added.

On Wednesday, the Raila-led party claimed that the government is using some members of the party, police officers, and Provincial administration to penetrate the ODM party strongholds.

The opposition outfit alleged that the plot is being sponsored by Interior PS Raymond Omollo.

“The master puppeteer behind these schemes has been identified as none other than the PS for Internal Security Raymond Omollo. The Party condemns in the strongest terms, this blatant abuse of Police and State power to intimidate our people and prop up regime stooges in our strongholds,” ODM SG Edwin Sifuna stated.

The ODM party also mentioned that they would lodge formal complaints to the authorities over the alleged plot.
