Suna East Member of Parliament (MP) Junet Mohamed has been forced to apologise following his demeaning remarks against nominated senator Isaac Mwaura. 

During a popularization drive of the building bridges initiative (BBI) in Turkana County on Saturday, the legislator claimed that Mwaura bleached to get a nomination slot. 

However, the MP received backlash from Kenyans following his comments as many opined such utterances were derogatory to people living with disabilities.

Junet succumbed to the pressure and issued an apology on Sunday, however, a majority of Kenyans were not buying it.

"I want to apologize to people born with albinism. My comments in no way reflects my opinions of them as upstanding citizens of our county. My comments were directed at the rotten character of Isaac Mwaura who exploits his disability for personal gain and incitement of violence," the MP's apology on Twitter read.
