A source who spoke to this journalist disclosed that Ageyo might be replacing Mr. Joseph Warungu at NTV.

Barely days after announcing his departure from Royal Media Services (RMS), Nairobileo.co.ke can now reveal that Joe Ageyo is set to join Nation Media Group (NMG).

Ageyo has now been appointed as the Editorial Director broadcasting at NMG.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Josephy Ageyo as Editorial Director - broadcasting with effect from 1st April 2022.

"As Editorial director-broadcasting, he will be an integral part of the leadership team and will participate in the development and execution of the group's editorial strategy. {Mr. Joseph Warungu}

Mr. Ageyo, the former editorial director at Royal Media Services, gave an emotional farewell to his colleagues as he prepared to hand over the reigns of editorial power to his successor Mr. Linus Kaikai.

Mr. Kaikai was appointed the new editorial director at RMS. Kaikai previously served as Director of Strategy and Innovation.

"I have had the privilege of leading the most formidable team on Kenyan television, the most diverse team on radio and no doubt a force to reckon with in the digital space too," Ageyo said in his exit statement.

He added, "It is time to answer to a new calling. True to the Shakespearian wisdom that all the world is but a large stage, a stage where all men and women are merely players; they have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts. It is time for me to play another part because, like the French say, he who doesn't advance recedes."
