President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga have officially received the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) final report.
The report was handed to President Kenyatta and Odinga at Kisii State lodge.
Speaking during the unveiling of the report, Odinga took a
swipe at Deputy President William Ruto’s hustler movement, noting that if he
cares about the less fortunate, he should give them his helicopter and not
wheelbarrows.
According to Odinga, the DP has been in power for close to 8
years and has nothing to show for it.

“You have been there all this time, did you come from Heaven? Is this the first time you have discovered the watu wa mkokoteni? If you are really concerned why don’t you give them your helicopters,” Odinga said.

Kenyans to read BBI report
On his part, President Kenyatta noted that the report will
officially be unveiled on Monday October 26, 2020 at the Bomas of Kenya.
He asked stakeholders of the BBI report to circulate the
recommendations of the document in all possible media platforms before the
Monday when the details of the document will be read and reviewed publicly at
the Bomas of Kenya.
“Let us read as individual citizens because it is about your
life, the life your children and even your grandchildren. Let us not politicise
life. Politics will come and go, but this life is here to stay,” he said.
Addressing BBI critics, the President said: “This is not a document against any individual nor community. It is a document for all Kenyans. I am encouraging everyone of us to read it with a view of making it even better… I want to plead with my political colleagues; this is not the time to create division, but the time for each of us to show leadership, the time to bring our country together.”
