Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is a man over the moon after surpassing the one million followers mark on Twitter.

An elated Khalwale thanked his followers for believing in him and following him to the million mark.

He noted that it has not been easy on social media, describing the experience as tough and rough.

He appreciated his followers for 'keeping the faith' despite them having divergent opinions on different things.

"The streets on social media are tough & rough. The slightest hint in a tweet provokes followers to come after u, with crude & conventional weapons.

KOT, despite our divergent views on so very many things, u've kept the faith & followed me to the one million man/woman. Merci!" he wrote.


Khalwale is one of the highly opinionated leaders in Kenya and has never shied away from speaking his mind on various issues that affect Kenyans on their day-to-day lives.

He is also a Deputy President William Ruto point-man in Western Kenya and has been popularizing their preferred party the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Khalwale is seeking to succeed Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya in 2022.
