President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday hinted at lifting the 10pm to 4am curfew very soon.

Speaking as he was headed to Kirinyaga ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations, the Head of State called on Kenyans to continue observing the set Covid-19 regulations.

"We will look at it...I’m working and very soon, you will hear it. I don't want to speak too early but very soon. You need to protect yourselves from the disease so that when we re-open there will be no more deaths," said the President.

Kenyans from all walks of life have been calling for the lifting of the curfew including leaders and business people from different sectors.

Two weeks ago, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe extended the nationwide curfew by a further 30 days, after rumours circulated that the curfew notice had expired.

Kagwe mentioned that the period will be used to vaccinate as many people as possible.

The Health CS also stated that the ban on public gatherings and political rallies had also been extended.
