CS Fred Matinag'i has told Kenyans to brace for inconveniences due to heightened security checks.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matinag'i has told Kenyans to brace for inconveniences due to heightened security checks.

Speaking at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison, Matiangi' mentioned that State had set measures that would cause inconveniences to people at the Standard Gauge Railway termini, Airports-such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and other major roads.

"We are not out of the woods yet, let us be careful and watchful and you may be inconvenienced but we are not in the normal space at the moment, we have raised the level of alert. We are determined and we will not sleep until we keep our country safe," Matiangi' said while addressing the press.

CS Matiang'i spoke after receiving the three terror suspects; Musharaf Abdallah Akhulunga alias Shukri, Mohamed Abdi Ali Abikas alias Mohamed Ali Abikar, and Joseph Juma Odhiambo at Kamiti.

"It has been an awakening that there are certain lapses that we need to deal with. We have spent the last 3 days working on how to deal with certain challenges.

"I pray to God that we never get here as a Country because the level of anxiety the country got into was unnecessary because of the lapses that were here," he said.

The three were arrested in Kitui County en route to Somalia after locals alerted police officers.

The locals were able to single them out for matching the images circulated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
