A Covid-19 patient died in a grisly accident on Sunday, November 8, 2020, while being transported to the hospital, along the Mombasa- Nairobi Highway.

The patient was being transferred in an ambulance to the Coast General Hospital for specialised treatment when the accident occurred.

Reports indicate that the driver of the ambulance lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times.

The patient had been admitted at Moi Referral Hospital in Voi before plans were made to have him transferred to another facility.

According to reports, the patient was rushed back to Moi Referral Hospital where he is said to have succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Other reports indicated that the patient developed breathing problems after the accident.

Police have launched investigations into the incident to ascertain the course of the crash.
