The Council of Governors (CoG) chairperson left members of the public in stitches after he forgot his speech the vehicle he rode to the event in.


The people of Changamwe, Mombasa County were treated to a laugh spectacle after Embu Governor Martin Wambora stepped out to address them.

The Council of Governors (CoG) chairperson left members of the public in stitches after he forgot his speech the vehicle he rode to the event in.

Wambora confessed his love for Mombasa, revealing that he was a District Officer in the region before he went abroad for further studies.


He further revealed that during his tenure in the Coast region, he was instrumental in the subdivision and awarding of land to locals.

"I love Mombasa. That is why even after I became the chairman of the Council of Governors, I maintained that out general meetings happen here in Mombasa.

"I also asked the permission of your Governor Hassan Joho, to allow me retire here on the beach," Wambora stated.

He then proceeded to pullout a written speech, which he would have read on behalf of the council of governors.

"Alaa, hii speech ni yangu, nafikiria ni ya wenyewe. It appears niliisahau kwa gari ya Health CS Kagwe," Wambora said, sending members of the public into uncontrollable laughter.

President Uhuru Kenyatta along with other leaders present at the event could not help but laugh, until they teared up.

Governor Wambora was forced to close his remarks as he had no script to read from.

CS Mutahi Kagwe also treated the crowd to laugh, after he pulled his famous "you can gerrit" line.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, was not left behind in the comic sector, as he shared ODM leader Raila Odinga's message to the people, all while mimicking the former premier's voice.
