Police have launched a manhunt for boda boda riders who were caught on camera assaulting a female driver along Forest Road, Nairobi.

The video, which made rounds on social media on Monday afternoon, stirred emotions as Kenyans called for action.

In a prompt response, the National Police Service tweeted: "Our attention has been drawn to a distasteful video circulating on social media of Boda boda riders attacking a motorist after an alleged road traffic accident. The rowdy gang went ahead and stripped the lady off her clothes."

According to police, three of the perpetrators have already been arrested and will be presented in court once investigations are concluded.

In the video, the woman could be heard screaming at the top of her voice as the men tried to eject her from her car. It was not exactly clear what the woman did.

The seemingly furious men were pulling off her clothes as others shouted that they pull her out of the vehicle.

A section of Kenyans heavily condemned the act calling for the men in the video to be arrested.

“I have seen a very disturbing video of some boda riders attacking a female driver on Forest Road , their faces have been captured clearly ... This is an arrest I look forward to reading about from the @DCI_Kenya handle , they need to be in Kamiti ASAP,” @Polouch tweeted.

“This video of a woman being harassed by boda boda men on forest road is the most scary thing i have seen in a while. Sadly no single man was bold enough to stop the useless humans. Some are even molesting her. These same men will go back home to the women in their lives,” @olivia_mwenesi tweeted.

The incident caught the attention of Njeri Migwi who castigated the government for allowing boda boda riders to take the law into their own hands.

“A young woman today was accosted by motorbike riders on Forest road, you can see them actually groping and rough handling her. We have as a country allowed bodabodas to be a law unto themselves. Her screams of terror and fear are a telling story of how we invalidate women,” Njeri Migwi tweeted.
