Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has reiterated she is not interested in joining either the Azimio La Umoja Coalition or Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Speaking on Monday night, March 21, 2022, during an interview with NTV, the seasoned politician noted that she does not subscribe to either of the two coalitions despite being described as the front-runners in the presidential race.
Karua stated that she is a member of Narc-Kenya and is comfortable in her party.
The Narc-Kenya leader noted that her party is in talks with like-minded formations ahead of the August 9 general elections.
“Martha Karua belongs to Narc-Kenya. She is not outside in the rain… She is in a comfortable home called Narc-Kenya… There is no deadline for people getting coalitions we can still walk together even with my former OKA team players,” she said.
Karua further addressed the decision by her fellow One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals to enter into coalition deals with the Azimio La Umoja coalition.
She claimed that OKA failed its purpose after her co-principals decided to enter into an agreement with Azimio.
“One Kenya Alliance was created for the sole purpose of negotiating together. But our colleagues decided to sign an agreement on their own during the Azimio National Delegates Conference. This means the sole purpose of forming OKA failed on that day. But we are still friends,” she said.
“As Narc-Kenya we cannot hold anyone back… We all had the freedom to opt in or out of OKA. So it is their right,” Karua added.
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has since invited Karua to join the Kenya Kwanza team.
The lawmaker urged Karua to join the Deputy President William Ruto camp, claiming he foresees an imminent Ruto-Karua ticket which he claims will give hope to Kenyans.
